DOURO RIVER
The International Douro
The Douro River has many routes to be explored on kayak in a day . Kayaking down the International Douro river is actually navigating through the International Douro Natural Park. Here, the Douro river is flanked by banks and slopes of unparalleled beauty. This river is surrounded by kilometres of wild landscape, with deep, steep valleys carved by the waters of the Douro River within the Mirandês Plateau.
The Portuguese Douro
The Portuguese Douro river flows from Barca d' Alva to Foz in Porto, its 210km extension is also the navigation channel of the River Douro. There you will find both small boats and large cruise ships filled with wandering tourists. The paths through the Douro River Valley, the Douro Wine Region is a World Heritage Site, where the humanisation of landscape overlaps the natural and wild Douro, allowing us to take a look at the work of man while passing by the famous Douro wine estates ‘quintas’ with its ancient vineyards.
